Laser Hair Removal & Olive Skin v. II

Laser Hair Removal & Olive Skin v. II

I know, I know. This post is extremely overdue.

Since my first post on getting laser hair removal on my upper lip, side burns, underarms, and arms, I’ve started my stomach, Brazilian, and lower legs. Crazy, right? I couldn’t help but get these other areas treated once I saw how great my skin was handling the laser.

I can’t stress enough the importance of finding a spot that is knowledgeable, certified, clean, friendly, and isn’t ridiculously cheap. Be wary of those deals you find on discounted sites. These services are expensive for a reason. When a location has a crazy deal, they generally have to schedule a bunch of appointments in a day in order to see a profit. What does this mean to you? A rushed service. A rushed service can leave you with a poor laser hair removal experience, burns, and unanswered questions.

Another thing to pay attention to is timing. Sun kissed skin shouldn’t be treated. That is why it is better to start treatments in the winter. Flash Lab Laser actually turned me away twice because my arms were too tan. That’s the type of place you want to go to. One where the technicians ask if you’ve used any retinol or antibiotics in the past few days, if you’ve been in the sun, and actually look at your skin to see if the treatment can be done and which laser/level to use.

While treatments are expensive, you end up saving money and time in the long run. If you are unable to make a full payment, ask about payment extension plans. This is what I’m currently doing. Before laser hair removal, I was paying close to $1,000 for a 12 month package at European Wax Center just for a full Brazilian, not including tip.

Besides saving money and time, I have gained freedom and confidence…freedom from that scary feeling I would get when I would forget my razor at home, freedom from having to strategically schedule a wax appointment before an important event, and confidence because I don’t have to think twice about baring my skin. I look better because I feel better. There’s no greater feeling than that!

And if you like to rock your body hair, more power to you! This is just my personal journey.

Any questions? Let me know in the comments!
